OverviewWord Sandwich is a word search game with a logic-puzzle twist.
A 5×5 grid of letters sits on a piece of toast. No word list — only the first letter of each hidden word is highlighted. Every letter must be used exactly once. The client came to us with the concept and mechanics defined; our role was to bring the visual identity and UI to life.
Our design direction drew from NYT Games and Letterpress — clean typography, ample white space, and a refined colour palette that avoided the cartoonish tropes common in mobile games. The jam-and-toast theme informed every UI decision: letter connections spread as a jam texture across the board, and level completion unfolds as a tactile, food-first animation sequence.
